The last time I posted about my work was in August, and now it’s October, so I think you’re all due an update. Now, where do I begin…
The last event I posted about was the annual conference, so what came after that? Well, after going to the Kent International Jamboree, the rest of the month was spent relaxing and creating my new advocacy group, Transit96.
I then spent September scoring Pay it Forward applications, holding a focus group at my school on the subject of mental health (on that note – the full Make Your Mark report has been published, which you can read here), and I attended multiple roundtables. (note – KYCC didn’t go ahead in September due to train strikes at short notice)
Starting off on the 15th, I attended a roundtable with Kent Youth County Council on shifting local counselling systems onto a THRIVE model, in which I provided my experience with our counselling system. This was picked up by KYCC staff and will be passed onto KCC commissioners.
I also attended a roundtable with officials from the Department of Health and Social Care to discuss the national mental health system in the UK. We summarised our feedback into a slideshow which I’ll attach below.

Later in the month, I joined a meeting with the person who runs the ‘Report A Problem’ page at KCC, where we gave feedback on how to make it more accessible and more known to young people, along with being invited to trial a beta version of the page.
And that bridges the gap! Later this week I’ll be attendeing BYC’s youthcon, so you’ll get another update then, and then the next major event to the House of Commons sitting! I’ve applied to be a debate lead at the event, so to stay up to date on that make sure you follow me on instagram and twitter @HadynCutler!
Anyhow, thanks for reading!
