Let’s keep this short and simple; not much happened this month, except KYCC (thanks to some wonderful house work that meant I ended up in a travelodge and missed a UKYP meeting). So, let’s jump right in.
KYCC meeting
Feeling Safe in Kent (FSiK) meeting
The Public Safety subgroup was laser-focused on marketing our Ask For Angela campaign, discussing strategies to get the message out and to make sure everyone knows what the codeword means. We’ve established a design brief for our prototype poster so we can get it designed, and will be investigating copyrights and our permissions to use the scheme.
UKYP in KYCC meeting
We began by establishing new, secure methods for communincation in order to speed up the distillation of information to all Kentish MYPs, before moving on to the main discussion around UKYP’s “Spill the Tea” campaign, where all MYPs agreed to contact their MPs regarding the campaign. We will also be looking into the logistics of meeting up with MPs.
The group then moved on to underage vaping, with us looking inot lobbying MPs, entering discussions with vape retailers, looking into licensing law, and encouraging young people to report illegal vape sales.
And that’s it! Told you it was short. Anyhow, thanks for reading and see you next month!
