As you can likely tell, this blog is a tad bit late, as I wanted to release it at the same time as a video on my Youtube channel, which you will be able to find at the end of this post. My apologies. Anyway, without further ado, let’s jump in to what happened this July.

Feeling Safe in Kent campaign

This month, the campaign group mainly focussed on contacting businesses and asking for them to sign up to our scheme. This was hampered as the meeting was on a weekend, but some progress was made. We’ll continue our efforts over the coming months.

UKYP @ KYCC group

Members of the group brainstormed initial ideas for a summit on tackling the youth vaping epidemic, with activities, panels, and keynote speakers suggested. In our next meeting, we’ll begin developing on these ideas.

UK Youth Parliament

YouthCon

At the very beginning of the month, we made our way to London to go to BYC YouthCon! The event started with a welcoming ceremony, where we heard what different local groups were campaigning for in their areas. We then touched up on our debating skills, before hearing from representatives of different political parties, questioning them to ensure youth voices are heard. Unfortunately, I did not get to experience the rest of this event as I had somewhere else to be, but it was a great time nonetheless.
